The Law of First
The Law of First
Graffiti is becoming positive
-Gives us purpose
W/ boundaries
Even when we operate in our purpose if it’s outside of God’s guidelines we create chaos
When we steward what God has for us correctly he is able to pull more out of us
3 Points:
1. We increase in favor with God and Man
-Favor: ① a winning quality or attractiveness that invites a favorable reaction, graciousness, attractiveness, charm, winsomeness
2. We can have peace in storms
3. God Partners with our natural stewardship with His supernatural
2 “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. 4 And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. 6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. 7 And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.
First passover a type and shadow of things to come
1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Consecrate to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine.”
God is very emphatic
The first is His:
First born
First fruits
First part of the day
First month
Leaving your First love
You can’t give God leftovers cause he can’t accept them
And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
There’s a difference here between:
An offering
Firstborn
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
For stewardship to be done CORRECTLY
IT STARTS WITH GOD being First
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
What this isn’t about is Perfection
What it is about is the pursuit of His kingdom
We can all seek the wrong things sometimes
The first sets the trajectory for the Rest:
16 Therefore thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation,
A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;
Whoever believes will not act hastily.
17 Also I will make justice the measuring line,
And righteousness the plummet;
The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
And the waters will overflow the hiding place.
Everything that’s built off Him stays in ORDER
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,
There’s a way to make a daily check in
My morning Routine
Building an unmovable structure on Christ is daily
10 Have you not even read this Scripture:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
We have to choose Him daily
Seek First daily
What are you seeking?
What are you choosing daily?
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
Communion:
Call back to Passover
what Jesus was celebrating when he broke bread with the disciples
the sacrifice of Christ and His blood payed atonement
the blood now covers our lives
death no longer has a hold
the things of this world are supposed to passover us now
