New Heavens and New Earth

Revelation 21:1-8

V. 1-2

God will completely transform all of creation.

Heaven and earth reunited, all damage from the Fall and entrance of Sin has been dealt with.

Marriage theme points to the communion God’s people will have with Him.

V. 3

There is now nothing that seperates mankind from God, we dwell in His presence.

V. 4

There is no longer death.

No more pain and suffering, all effects of sin have passed away.

V. 5

These are God’s promises to His people to look forward to.

Again we see God’s promise that He is renewing all things, and we see God affirming the trustworthiness of His Word.

V. 6

Redemption is complete, the God who has known the end from the beginning has accomplished His work, and God now provides eternal life for His people.

V. 7

He who conquers will be a Son of God.

V. 8

Old Identity vs. New

We are all of these things, and we need a new identity provided by Christ to enter His kingdom.

Is it hard to grasp the idea of a world with no sin? Why?

Which identity describes you better? The Old or New?

How should we live knowing the new identity that Christ has given us?
