Mark 10:46-52 “Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road. When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.” Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus. And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.”

DON’T MISS YOUR MOMENT
Jesus is passing by today. . .Don’t Miss Your Moment !!!
Jesus is passing by today. . .Don’t Miss Your Moment !!!
Mk 10:46 “Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.”
Jericho was a place known as the “City of Palms”. Many rich people frequented Jericho. It was common for beggars to be there
APPL. You’re in a Place of Opportunity
Doesn’t matter how you came, why you came, who you came with. . . . you’re now in a place of opportunity
Today is your day of: RESTORATION, REDEMPTION, REJUVINATION, RENEWING, REFUELLING, RESTARTING, RE-EXAMINING, REIGNITING, RECONNECTING, RECHARGING

Question: What do you want? - This man knew what he wanted when he heard Jesus was passing by.
Question: What do you want? - This man knew what he wanted when he heard Jesus was passing by.
Mk 10:47 “When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!””
“when he heard it was Jesus” - He stopped begging for small change and asked for a real change
Luke 18:36 [“Now hearing a crowd going by, he began to inquire what this was.” ]
Some of us have been asking for SMALL CHANGE when we really should be asking for REAL CHANGE
APPL. Instead of asking for a Raise in salary ask for a raise in your spirit.
Instead of a new car to drive what about humility to allow the Spirit to drive my will
Instead of a new house what about strenghtening your hope for city built in glory
I don’t what he heard but it was enough to get his shout going.
I don’t what he heard but it was enough to get his shout going.
Luke 4:18 ““The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed,”
Whatever he heard it was enough for him to start shouting,
Whatever he heard it was enough for him to start shouting,
Notice how he refers to Jesus, “Son of David”
Notice how he refers to Jesus, “Son of David”
This term is a Messianic reference to Jesus
When he says this it helps us understands what he sees, when he sees Jesus.
This is IMPORTANT Because we don’t all see the same thing when we see Jesus //APPL.
When He saw Jesus, he saw: HOPE, DELIVERANCE, REDEMPTION, HEALING, VICTORY, LIGHT, SALVATION
He SAW BIG/REAL CHANGE because when he saw Jesus he started begging for MERCY [show compassion, help in a difficult situation]
He didn’t beg for something that affect his wallet, but HIS SOUL.
He Heard enough to know that He couldn’t MISS His MOMENT! - Have you???
He Heard enough to know that He couldn’t MISS His MOMENT! - Have you???
Mk 10:48 “Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”” [Luke said “those who led the way”]
Why were they rebuking him to keep quiet?
There’s was a WHY behind his shout - It was JESUS!
He didn’t care what others thought of his shouting
What God brings you through, brings you to a shout
Mk 10:49 “And Jesus stopped [Jesus stood still - KJV] and said, “Call him here.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.””
Whenever you see this phrase, get ready for God to do something great
Whenever you see this phrase, get ready for God to do something great
Ex 14:13 “But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand [still] by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.”
Jos 3:8 ““You shall, moreover, command the priests who are carrying the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the edge of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’ ””
2 Kgs 5:11 “But Naaman was furious and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me and stand [still] and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.’”
2 Chr 20:17 “‘You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand [ye still] and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.””
Maybe God is getting ready to do something great for you
Maybe God is getting ready to do something great for you
Like the blind, “He’s calling you”
Like the blind, “He’s calling you”
Don’t Miss Your Moment!!!
Don’t Miss Your Moment!!!
Mk 10:50 “Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus.”
[I’m still trying figure out how this blind man “came” to Jesus - Maybe we was not walking by sight but by faith]
“Throwing aside his cloak”
The cloak was many times used as pallet to sit on and beg or as a ‘collection plate’ - “He cast it aside”
I may have started this day a beggar but I’m gonna end it a believer
Beggars would wear clothes that showed they were authorized to beg - “He cast it aside”
APPL. Do you have something that you need to “cast aside” because you want to answer the call? - Don’t Miss Your Moment!!!
APPL. Do you have something that you need to “cast aside” because you want to answer the call? - Don’t Miss Your Moment!!!
Mk 10:51-52 “And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.”
This man moved from begging at the side of the road to following Jesus on the road
“your faith made you well” - the phrase used here is the same word translated SAVED
