3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
In these verses David was dejected and he became enemies with his own people even his own family.
Though he was dejected, this verse is about Christ acceptance.
Its beautiful that God would have the body partakes with the soul.
When theres joy in your life your body reflects that joy.
From a smile a laugh a hug.
But when my soul is down my face will reflect that reality.
Even when ones soul is down and theres a smile on the outside, those who know that person best will be able to know the difference.
How does God lift our heads.
Promotion, an elevation to an office. Spiritual elevation. A believer is ordain as a Pastor.
New gifts are also realized and discovered.
2. New relationships, I remember when I first got saved. I need new friends. God did the bulldozing.
He gave me new friends, He lifted my head.
For those who are in need of friends a simple advice is to be friendly.
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
3. Good health
4. Maybe a child or a friend receiving Christ.
5. The growth of the church
6. Maturity of believers
7. Over coming addictions.
He works in our life and shows up in our lives to remind us that He’s present with us.
The Treasury of David, Volume 1: Psalms 1–26 Explanatory Notes and Quaint Sayings
There is a lifting up of the head by elevation to office, as with Pharaoh’s butler; this we trace to the divine appointment. There is a lifting up in honour after shame, in health after sickness, in gladness after sorrow, in restoration after a fall, in victory after a temporary defeat; in all these respects the Lord is the lifter up of our head.—C. H. S.
Psalm 3:8 (NKJV)
8 Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah
