Intro: Theology, when properly studied, is not a cold and dry adventure, but a calculated study of the facts of who God is. When done correctly, you will find it has real life implications and causes the believer to admire their creator all the more. This, of course, can only be done with love for God, otherwise it becomes a meaningless venture. As we have shown last week, David who writes Psalm 139, shows that he has taken these fact about God and brings along with it their necessary real life implications that effect his every action and even his own thought life, for nothing is hidden from God. we talked about
omniscience
omnipresence
God’s Knowledge of Us (Ps. 139:13-18)
God’s Knowledge of Us (Ps. 139:13-18)
What This Tells Us About God
What This Tells Us About God
We are not disconnected from God in such a way that He cannot relate to us, know about the struggles and cares of our lives, or what we will go through.
He is not a deistic God
last time we talked briefly about pantheism, where God is only in the universe. Deism is the opposite
Deism is the view that God is not now directly involved in the creation.

What This Tells Us About Ourselves
What This Tells Us About Ourselves
Vs 14, Glorifying God in His design
there is a difference between those who praise themselves for qualities they possess (never made sense to me) and there are those that put the credit where it belongs
Why is David praising God?
David understands the intricacies of the human body. he understands just how wise, powerful, and intelligent someone would have to be to design such a marvelous machine capable of all that it does. we too must see the amazing skill required to build something that maintains blood flow, regenerates cells, fight off infections, with a reasonable mind and moral soul able to pilot this wonderful machine. the take away? We are fearfully and wonderfully made. My understanding, he took great love and care in making us, so don’t mess with Him.
We should watch our accusations about God (Do you even care about me? are you even interested?)
Job. 38:2.
God knows how weak we are
Gen. 8:21.
Ps. 103:10-18.
Vs 16, Rejoicing in a Sovereign God
back to deism/pantheism dichotomy
Vs 17-18, The Complex Thought life of God
When i think about What God thinks (Like an adult trying to explain something to a child)
It should make a profound impact on us that this all knowing, all seeing, all powerful God, has an interest in space and time bound creatures. The universe around you created by God has an estimated 2 trillion galaxies (observable 100-200 Billion) in those galaxies are an estimated 100 billion planets. within the milky way alone there are more than 3,200. We are located in the Orion-Cygnus Arm of the Milky way galaxy, in a solar system that contains 8 planets, which contains the one you are living on, which also contains the one and only YOU who was specifically and lovingly designed by God Himself.
Psalm 8:3-8.
He does care, James 1:17 (“With Love, From God”)
You Should Want to Align Yourself With Him(Ps. 139:19-24)
You Should Want to Align Yourself With Him(Ps. 139:19-24)
1. The Psalmist shows the only true reaction about this knowledge. Instead of rebelling against Him, you should align yourself with Him. Come to Him and learn from Him and as you do that, you will notice that you must distance yourself from His enemies, as the psalmist clearly says here.
What This Tells Us About God
What This Tells Us About God
God expects His subjects to be like this. Loyal.
What This Tells Us About Ourselves
What This Tells Us About Ourselves
Zeal for God, is never a bad thing
James 4:4
vs 23-24, Knowing that God is all knowing, all powerful, and everywhere, the only thing you can do is be genuine with him and not hide
can you ask God to search you? Are you that genuine?
