I. Mind Your Thoughts. (Philippians 4:6-8)
a. Pray about all things. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Supplication: “pleading with God over matters we are intensely concerned about”
Peace: “a sense of calm and quietness, even in the face of adversity, based on one’s trust in God”
b. Think about godly things. (Philippians 4:8)
1. Whatever is true
2. Whatever is noble
3. Whatever is just
4. Whatever is pure
5. Whatever is lovely
6. Whatever is of good report
II. Practice the Truth. (Philippians 4:9)
III. Stay Positive Through Christ. (Philippians 4:10-13)
Contentment: “being satisfied with the situation in which the Lord has put you”
a. Strength for the hard times
b. Gratitude for the good times
c. Christ for all times
Three Practical Disciplines for Staying Focused on Christ:
1. Ask God for strength to stay focused daily.
2. Spend time in God’s Word daily.
3. Meditate on specific passages of Scripture.
