Acts 1:8 NKJV
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Leviticus 6:11–14 NKJV
11 Then he shall take off his garments, put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. 12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. 14 ‘This is the law of the grain offering: The sons of Aaron shall offer it on the altar before the Lord.

Numbers 1:47-53 NIV [47] The ancestral tribe of the Levites, however, was not counted along with the others. [48] The Lord had said to Moses: [49] “You must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the census of the other Israelites. [50] Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the covenant law---over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it. [51] Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who approaches it is to be put to death. [52] The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each of them in their own camp under their standard. [53] The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law. ”
God commanded Moses to take a census of all the Israelites at the beginning of Number 1, for the purposes of forming an army, but God left out the Levites. God, however, commanded Moses to take another census at Number 3:39 but this time, for the Levites. God set the Levites apart to take care of the Tabernacle of the covenant law so that the wrath of God will not fall on the Israelite community. Why? Take a look at the origin of the Tabernacle.
God told Moses, in Exodus 25:2 NIV [2] “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give. [‘You’ refer to Moses] Exodus 25:8-9 NIV [8] “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. [9] Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you. Exodus 27:21 NIV [21] In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come. Exodus 28:1 NIV [1] “Have Aaron your brother brought to you from among the Israelites, along with his sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, so they may serve me as priests.
God chose the tribes of Levi to be His priests. Guarding the Tabernacle, where God will dwell. The Leviticus priesthood began with Aaron but it was never meant to be permanent, because Jesus was to come, He lives forever, and established the permanent priesthood.
Hebrews 7:11-21 NIV [11] If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood---and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood---why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron? [12] For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. [13] He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar. [14] For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. [15] And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears, [16] one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life. [17] For it is declared: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” [18] The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless [19] (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. [20] And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath, [21] but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever.' ” Hebrews 7:23-24 NIV [23] Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; [24] but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
So because of Jesus, we the disciples of Christ, are the priests now. :
1 Peter 2:5 NIV [5] you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 NIV [9] But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
By becoming God’s royal priesthood now, what is our responsibility now? The Levites set up their tent around the Tabernacle, had the role to take down and set up the Tabernacle whenever they move; they made sure that the lamp burning through the night till morning that stood outside the Ark of Covenant Law. Ultimately, God said “The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law. ”.
How are we, as disciples of Jesus taking up the role of setting up the tabernacle which is now our heart, where God’s Spirit dwell? How do we 'set up our hearts? As the Levites kept the lamp burning through the night to morning around the covenant law, how then are we keeping the Spirit’s fire burning in our hearts? As the Levites were responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law so that God’s wrath would not fall on the Israelite community, are we, as disciples of Christ taking care of the new covenant, guarding the laws and words that Christ has written them on our minds?
Hebrews 10:16 NIV [16] “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
As Christ’s royal priesthood, all Christians play a very important role that God has set aside. Guard and uphold the covenant of Christ.
Praying Grace..
Zechariah 12:10–11 NKJV
10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. 11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
