Fork In The Road

We’ve discussed denial and forgiveness. Once you step out of denial and learn to not only forgive, but also to extend forgiveness, we are ready to grow. Not only in our recovery, but more importantly our walk. We might find ourselves at a fork in the road, a crossroad if you will. At this point we must choose carefully which way to go.
Where is the Lord leading you? If He tells you to go right and you go left, that is disobedience. And disobedience could have you lost in the wilderness, never to see the promise land.
Now if you’ve never experienced Jesus guiding you. Maybe your not saved. In which case I say, “I’m so glad you’re here.”
In fact Billy Graham said that 85% of people sitting in church on Sunday mornings are headed straight to hell and haven’t a clue. That is a scary statistic.
The Good News is tonight you have the option to be a part of the 15% that make it to heaven.
How glorious would it be to see all of us make it to heaven.
Did you all know that God wants so MUCH MORE for us than to be wilderness wonders? Don’t spend your entire life lost between a river and a sea.
Oswald Chambers said the greatest crisis we ever face is the surrender of our will. Yet God never forces a person’s will into surrender, and He never begs. He patiently waits until that person willingly yields to Him.

God never intended for us to be stuck lost in the wilderness. He wants us to have the MUCH MORE.
Proverbs 21:19 NKJV
19 Better to dwell in the wilderness, Than with a contentious and angry woman.
Tonight we’re going to be in Romans 5:8-11. If you would turn there in your Bibles.
If you’re willing and able, please stand for the reading of God’s Holy Word.
Romans 5:8–11 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
Pray. Thank you. You may be seated.

How many of us call ourselves “Christians” and we’re lost roaming around in the wilderness, never knowing what lies in the promise land.
Deuteronomy 6:23 NKJV
23 Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.

He saved you from bondage, but maybe you haven’t experienced the much more.
You might even think that this Christian life stinks.
Maybe you’re stuck in the wilderness.

Our acrostic for tonight is YES!
When God tells you to move, there is only one answer. YES!

The Y in YES stands for yield your life to Jesus!

yield means to give up possession of on claim or demand or to surrender or relinquish
Romans 10:9–10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
new creation
2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The E in YES stands for exemplify Jesus in our daily walk.

How
Don’t trust me or pastor Troy.
Read the Bible
2 Timothy 3:16–17 NKJV
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 4:2–4 NKJV
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
Hey listen if your just going off what you hear, you might be headed down a dead end road.

The S in YES stands for serve like Jesus serves.

I believe a true transformation will give you the desire to serve in your local church.
I don’t need church.
There are no long ranger Christians.
When I got saved a fire was lit inside me to be all in. In church. In ministry.
