Background to the Parable
Background to the Parable
The People tell Jesus about a terrible killing at the hands of Pilate that took place in the Temple
Jesus knows that the people assume that when terrible things happen it is because the people to whom it happened were extra sinful
Jesus gives another example where 18 people died when a tower collapsed. He says that they were no more or less in need of repentance than anyone
A shipwreck happens off the coast and a boat comes along to rescue everyone who was stranded in the water.
Some people sound the alarm that the rescue boat are pirates/human traffickers. Some reject the rescue quietly some loudly and throw things at the rescue boat.
You’re either on the boat or in the water.
Jesus says that all men stand in need of repentance
BIG IDEA - God is not waiting for us to mess up, He is waiting for us to fulfill our purpose and become fruitful people.

If we are not fulfilling our purpose, why are we here?
Satan wants to say, you have no purpose, you could never be fruitful.
That’s just a lie. You were created for a purpose. You can be fruitful if you choose to be fruitful.
The question is, are you going to be a waster or a producer?
Are you going to just take up space on this earth living for yourself, or are you going to fulfill your purpose in life to be a blessing to others?
