Magicians or Holy Spirit Filled
One of the promises found in scripture is that in the gift of the Holy Spirit will be with us dwell with us, and fill us. That is we have the access to the presence of the Living God.
Yet today there are many who will behave themselves as performers. Ministers who conjure up the presence only when performing but never in an effort to build a relationship. Its not that they delight in His presence rather they delight in the effect of His presence. They have become performers, and have lost sight of the work or relationship with the Lord. To be frank, they want to purchase intimacy, and in so doing treat the Lord as a prostitute…
Through scripture we are made aware the Lord will give you His manifested presence to the degree you are willing to guard it, and the only way to guard it is to dwell in His presence.

To Dwell in His presence is to do nothing without His presence.

Exodus 33:12–16 ESV
Moses said to the Lord, “See, you say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?”
In the calling, anointing, and appointing we are commissioned to do a great in the Lord
Know the commissioning and stand on not feeling but what God has spoken into your commissioning.
Moses wrestles with the Lord to know the how...
Notice God knows Moses by name… there is a measure of intimacy in the relationship and in this Moses has found favor in the Lord
Moses refuses to advance if God’s presence will not go with him
I can deal with not knowing who is to be added
I can deal with not knowing how He will do it
He refuses to go on unless he assured God’s presence is with him.

Drawing Near to His Presence

Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus makes a way that we have access to His presence
As we draw near we encounter His grace and mercy.
this is the place where God promised Moses He would meet him and instruct him.
The display of mercy is noted here in 2 Chron 7:14 that He is never too far…
He inhabits what in the OT was known as the mercy seat and desires to dwell with us.
Whether you have been away for a long time or advancing in His presence… draw near to His presence

Seek Him to Know His Ways

Isaiah 2:2–3 ESV
It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, and many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
The time for the nations to flow to the House of the Lord is now.
We the gentiles have access to it but we have to ascend the hill… no one is going to do it for us.
In the encounter of dwelling in His presence;
He will meet with us and teach us
He will guide our path
We will know how to walk in His ways.

Promises for the One’s Who Dwell in His Presence

No Lack
Psalm 23:1 ESV
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Peace
Psalm 23:2 ESV
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
Restoration of the Soul
Righteousness for His Name’s Sake
Psalm 23:3 ESV
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Rod and Staff (Protection)… strength, defense, guidance
Psalm 23:4 ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Preparation, anointing, greater infilling to overflow
Psalm 23:5 ESV
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Goodness, mercy (covenantal love) all the days of your life
Psalm 23:6 ESV
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
The most important of these is to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. We have not been called to only receive a sprinkling but if we are to operate in His power and divinity we can no longer treat Him like a prostitute we must dwell with Him as He desires to dwell with us.
When we engage with the work He has for us we are to do nothing without His presence, yes, even the things He asks us to do we are to seek His presence as we engage in what He calls us into.
