20 Christians Lead To Their Execution, 21 Died.

Have you ever saw someone do something, and wanted to be a part of it
Story my friends going to mt san gorgonio
When it is something fun it is easy to follow, but what about when it gets hard.
What about when it will cost us everything?
The Average is 13 Christians die everyday for our faith.
Feb. 15, 2015 a video was released showing masked figures beheading 21 Christians
20 of them were Coptic Christians
the other 1 was offered to be freed
One by one these men were killed
The last on man Matthew Ayariga A-air-re-ga was given the opportunity to live if he would just reject Christ,
His response was “Their God is my God”
Not a lot was know about Matthew, some reported that He was new to the faith and that these other men changed his heart to make a decision to follow Christ and proudly proclaim with his final words being , “Their God is my God”
Matthew 5:16 NIV
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Living A Life, That Is An Example

These men had such faith that they were able to stand strong even in the hardest time and show the light of Christ even in the darkest moments
Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
When life gets hard it is important to remember that God has a plan and that plan might not make sense to us.
Too many times we look at death wrong, we see it as final, but it is just the next part of our spiritual life.
2 Corinthians 5:8 NIV
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
These men believed that as they were knelt down by the water facing a camera knowing that they were only minutes away from seeing Jesus face to face.
There was no begging, pleading, just faith, so much so that the 21st man chose the same fate, and got to see Jesus face to face

How Do We Get The Same Level Of Faith?

I believe to have our faith grow, we need to change the way we look at life
We treat life like it is, temporary
understanding the fact that this life is short and eternity is “well” eternal
Once we understand that this life is not it, we can seek the one that is eternal, God
Fully seeking God is not something that we just obtain, it is something that is a conscious decision that must be made everyday
Deuteronomy 13:4 NIV
It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
We get bogged down with worries that do not deserve our attention
We let the little things get to us
we let others get to us
we let temp. things distract us from our calling
we don’t seek God’s calling for us, we seek our calling
we let our bad habits take us away
WE Have to change our mind set

How Do We Change Our Mindset?

First we have to want to change our mindset
make time for God
everything that is important in our lives we make time
Find accountability
when we are making a big change will want to quit
we will want to fall into our old ways
Most importantly we must spend time in prayer
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.” Jesus starts by establishing our identity as children of God. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
It’s tempting to rush to the part of prayer where you’re asking God for what you want or need.
Jesus makes a point of placing God’s agenda first. He also uses this phrase as a reminder that what is true of God in heaven is also true on earth. “Give us today our daily bread.” Jesus models asking God for His own needs.
Because God is a loving Father, He enjoys hearing what His children want and need, so that He can provide for them.
Though He won’t give you anything and everything you ask for, He will provide what you need to get through each day, including His grace to sustain you. “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Forgiveness was at the heart of Jesus’ teaching during His time on earth, and it’s here at the heart of His guide to prayer. Jesus first models asking forgiveness for anything you have done that displeases God.
Second, He reminds you to consider any unforgiveness you might have toward another person and ask Him to help you forgive them. “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Finally, Jesus closes His prayer by encouraging His followers to keep in mind that the Christian life is a spiritual battle with a very real enemy. Jesus closes His prayer by emphasizing how quickly and naturally humans stray from God’s protection.
Closing
Matthew 6:9–13 NIV
“This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
