A GOOD RUN

Word for the Week Defender: God defends his people, especially the most vulnerable. Because of God’s defense, although Christians sometimes face trials and persecutions, their eternal security is never threatened.

Memory verse: Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.””

Essence of the text in a sentence: David asked the Lord to protect him against his enemies and found rest and security in the Lord’s care.

Proposition of the sermon: Believers in Christ should alway look to God to handle their foes in life.

Objective of the sermon: I want those in attendance to analyze their actions when opposition or enemies arise and then change their thinking to finding help, rest, and security in the LORD.

Psalm 3 NKJV

A Psalm of David When He Fled from Absalom His Son. Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around. Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah
