Stephen was a man chosen to serve because he was full of the Spirit and exercised wisdom. He was clear thinking and logical. He was grown and mature. His choice was not careless or impetuous. It serves as a clear example for all of us.
When given the chance to act in safety or speak boldly, he chose the latter. When offered the choice to confront evil or retreat to life to fight again another day, he seized the opportunity.
