God’s great offer
God’s great offer
God has instructed us to pray - 1 Timothy 2:1
God has instructed us to pray - 1 Timothy 2:1
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
God has promised to answer our prayers - John 15:7
God has promised to answer our prayers - John 15:7
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Prayer is to be our alternative to anxiety - Philippians 4:6-7
Prayer is to be our alternative to anxiety - Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God is the source of all good gifts - James 1:17
God is the source of all good gifts - James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
God’s requirement for His provision is that we ask Him - John 16:24
God’s requirement for His provision is that we ask Him - John 16:24
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
What does it mean to ask God? - Luke 11:9-10
What does it mean to ask God? - Luke 11:9-10
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
We are to specifically ask for what we need - Luke 11:5-8

Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread;
a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’
And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’
I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
We are to seek His kingdom - Matthew 6:33
We are to seek His kingdom - Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
We are to knock - Testing for open doors - Romans 1:13
We are to knock - Testing for open doors - Romans 1:13
I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
When we don’t know what to ask for, we are to rely on the Holy Spirit - Romans 8:26
When we don’t know what to ask for, we are to rely on the Holy Spirit - Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
God always answers prayer

Sometimes His answer is Yes, although not always as we expect

We should come boldly before God with our requests - Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
