The Bible talks an amazing amount about Christians and government
I believe there are two main reasons for this
God is the creator and appointer of governments
God calls christians to be the good in each and every government around the world

The Purpose of Government (Romans 13:1-7)

They are an extention of God’s authority
Authority to bring revenge and execute wrath upon him that doeth evil
This is a form of God’s justice
Earth has been turned over to man so God appoints people to maintian justice
What about evil governments?
Just because God chooses and appoints governments doesn’t mean that they are not autonomise
God will replace them and give punishment to them for misusing the authority given to them
God can raise up one government against another or raise up one king to replace another (Amos 6:14)
David to replace Saul
Nebachanezzar, against Israel than replaced him when he became proud (Daniel 4:28)
They are ministers of God for good
Provide what is needed for their people
Protection
Transportation
utilities- bikas purwadhar
Give protection to the whole by restraining the wicked and the foolish
When a government oversteps their authority and begans causing damage and injury to people then they are no longer operating as a representative of God and are not to be followed
Shadrak, Mishak and Obednego would not bow down to a false idol
Peter and the apostles would not stop preaching

The Place of Christians (Titus 3:1-8)

To be an example of good works under the government that God has placed us
We are to live in peace in the country God has placed us so that we can be ready in every good work
There has been a change in our lives that should show forth even as it pertains to our place in a country
To be the best Nepali you can be
To be the best American you can be
Honest in Taxes
Honest in Business
Faithful in citizenship
Caring for our country
Caring for other citizens, especially those who are marginalized and abused
To be an example of our true citizenship as an heir of God
We represent the true eternal government of God to bring authority and good upon all men
Illustration- I am an american in Nepal, I follow the Nepali governments laws and regulations but my ultimate authority is the government of the United States. I still pay my taxes their, I still hold the US passport, I still think of myself as an american
This is how we all are but our true authority and citizenship is in God’s kingdom
1 Peter 2:11-25 We are strangers and pilgrims here in these earthly kingdoms
We only have to endure earthly governments for a time
Even a slave honors his master knowing that he has commited himself to the true judge who is on the eternal throne
2 Timothy 2:19-22 The Lord knows who are his and prepares them for good work
We are a vessel in the masters house
Not all vessels are equal but all have a use for the master
God has placed you in Nepal for a purpose. He has blessed us with a good government (not a perfect governement) We are to represent God as our true authority and live good lives in nepal, america, australia, whereever we are, to show forth the goodness of God our king
