Little Billy’s mom was rubbing moisturizing cream on her face as Billy walked in. “Mommy, what are you doing?” he asked. “I’m putting cold cream on my face,” she replied. “Why, Mommy?” Billy asked. “To make my skin look beautiful,” she said. When she started wiping the cold cream off her face with a Kleenex, Billy said, “Gosh, Mom, you’re giving up already?
2. Mother to daughter advice: Cook a man a fish and you feed him for a day. But teach a man to fish and you get rid of him for the whole weekend.
3. A police recruit was asked during the exam, `What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?’ He answered, `Call for backup.’
4. And, by the way, Happy Mothers Day!
What are mothers?
The first and most obvious qualification is…
Must be a woman - by birth.
You can’t swap sexes. No surgery and no amount of hormones can change a persons sex. It’s all just window dressing.
Think of it this way. you can build a kit car that looks just like a Lamborghini. It may be virtually identical to the real thing.
It may fool most people who see it, but it is not and never will be a real Lamborghini.
No matter how convincing it looks, no matter how many people believe that it is, no matter how much it says it’s a Lamborghini, it isn’t one.
Nothing can change that reality, Just like no sex-change operation or “gender reassignment surgery” can change what a person’s sex really is.
People are who God has designed us to be.
No such thing as transgender. There are no transgender women, because there is nothing “woman” about them. They are simply men wearing dresses.
We live in a confused society. People think men can have babies, and that there are multiple genders.
People can’t even figure out which restroom to use.
Here’s the simple truth. Men are men and women are women, and it’s a darn good arrangement. There are no other options.
So, by definition, a mother must first be a woman. If you are not a woman by birth, you are not a woman at all.
So, happy Mother’s Day to all of the real women who have raised or are raising children.

A Mother Is: Worthy of Honor

As we celebrate Mother's Day, and honor mothers, we find a wonderful example in Jesus Christ.
When Jesus died, there were people present who cared.
This group of five people is a striking contrast to the mocking, careless crowd.
These five people were:
Mary, Jesus’ mother
His mother’s sister, the mother of John.
Mary the wife of Clopas.
Mary Magdalene
John, the disciple.
Here, at Jesus’ feet were undoubtedly the nearest and dearest to Him, and he has a special word for them.
Jesus singles out His mother and John, and He speaks as Lord.
He does this to fulfill the law
Exodus 20:12
Exodus 20:12 NKJV
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
Ephesians 6:1-3
Ephesians 6:1–3 NKJV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
Jesus would make sure that His mother was cared for.
Here he commits His mother to the care of John, a beloved and trusted disciple.
A mother gives up much of herself to care for her children.
Many years of her life are given in this endeavor, and when children are grown, they should return the favor.
1 Timothy 5:4
1 Timothy 5:4 NKJV
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety at home and to repay their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God.
Children are indebted to those who brought them into the world, raised them, and loved them.
Fulfilling this responsibility is a mark of godly obedience.
Mothers, are you investing the time to raise children who will in turn take care of you when you are older?

A Mother Is: A Teacher

Are you instructing the in the Word of God?
2 Timothy 1:5
2 Timothy 1:5 NKJV
when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
Young Timothy's great faith was passed down to him from his mother, you can rest assured she spent time reading him the scriptures.

A Mother Is: A Prayer Warrior

Are you praying for your children to serve the Lord?
1 Samuel 1:26-28
1 Samuel 1:26–28 NKJV
And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there.
Are you setting the example?

A Mother Is: Love

A mother's love would do whatever is necessary to keep her child from harm.
When Solomon settled a dispute between 2 women who each claimed a child as her own, he didn't have a hard time identifying the real mother.
When he suggested cutting the child in half, and dividing it between the two women. The truth quickly became clear.
The real mother was willing to give up her claim to the child, in order to keep him from harm.
Difficult for sure, but definitely an act of motherly love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 NKJV
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
How well does this sum up the love of a mother?
Mothers, if you invest this kind of time, love and prayer in your children, it will go a long way toward raising children who will honor their mother.

A Mother Is: Essential

Proverbs 22:6
Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
We've just set a pretty high standard, but the truth is, no one is perfect, not even mothers.
However, when love is your motivator, that will cover many imperfections.
1 Peter 4:8
1 Peter 4:8 NKJV
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
You don't have to be perfect, you just have to follow Christ.
When you follow Christ, your children will learn to follow Christ, and be obedient just as He was.
The commandment is clear, honor your father and mother, and Christ is the perfect example.
Even in His death, He saw to it that His mother would be cared for. He honored His mother to the very end.
