Giving as Worship
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, MY NAME IS JON O’KEEFE AS WE TAKE OUR TIME FOR TITHE AND OFFERINGS, WE WILL BE READING FROM 1 Cor 10: 31 TO DISCUSS SETTING THE EXAMPLE IN OUR GIVING.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Cor 10:31
FAMILY, I was reminded of glorifying God our Father when I saw my own son’s willingness to give. Tori and I were discussing the logistics of eventually having my mother in law move in with us. My son overheard me make a comment about making choices as we get closer and the shifting market forces. My son Finn said “dad, I want Bada to move in with us, I can give you my money out of my wallet” That boy does love his grandmother! When I told him that he didn’t need to do that and that he could use his money for other things he said “ya, but we want Bada to live with us, and you take care of all those other thing for me.” Family, my son praised me in that moment, he didn’t know it but he expressed that he knows that he is secure and taken care of, and because of that he wanted to give to the mission of His father. How much more do we glorify God when we say “Father, I want to do your work, you take care of all that other stuff for me.”
The ushers have envelopes for those of you who would like to give cash or check this morning, if you raise your hand, they will be bring you one. I’d like to remind you all that even while you are home you can easily give through the TLC app. It is extremely convenient.
PRAYER: Father we are thankful for what you provide every day. We know that you have provided abundantly and offer us a chance to take part in your work. God, We pray that you would give us eyes to see your mission and teach us how to do your work, in all things Father, to include our giving
