Fruit of the Spirit

Gal. 5:22-23 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Faithfulness - Trustworthiness

God is faithful because we can trust Him

He never lies

Let’s us down

Never breaks His promises

If someone says you are faithful, it means that you can be trusted.

Have you ever promised someone to keep a secret but then you broke that promise and told someone?

How do you know you can trust someone?

We have faith in God because we know we can trust Him. He never breaks a promise.

If you saw a pond with cracks in it, would you trust it enough to walk on it?

What if other people were walking and skating on the ice, would you trust it then?

Peter walking on the water. He demonstrated that he had faith in Jesus. He trusted Jesus.

Water isn’t able to hold us, but Jesus can.

As christians, we trust Jesus completely as our savior.

We trust that He is the Son of God and can save us from our sins.

We have to be willing to trust Jesus with our whole lives.

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

We call God faithful because we can always trust Him.

We grow to be more like Jesus, meaning we will grow to be more trustworthy.

We will never give up on people or turn our backs on them.

Faithfulness is trust

Are you faithful/trustworthy?

Do people trust you?

Do you do what you said you will do?

God is faithful

He never breaks anyones trust

Always does what He said He will

Faithfulness is a fruit

Faithfulness grows in our lives when we stay rooted with Jesus

We can’t grow it ourselves, but God can grow it when we trust Him
