Melchizedek

an interesting and mysterious character

appears in an odd story in the beginning of the narrative of Abram

Abram rescues Lot with his group of warriors from the kings of the East who have come to take over the land of the Jordan

Lot and all of his people are saved and then there appears one with two names that are more like titles

you see one of them translated in Genesis and the other transliterated

Melech- king zedek- righteous or upright or just- Salem- Peace

in a scene of salvation and redemption by the power of God and him alone, bread and wine are offered

just as we will see at the Lord’s supper where again the king of righteousness and peace will go for the redemption and salvation of the ones whom he owes nothing

remember that this is from the beginning

remember that you were redeemed from your hopelessness and defeat

remember that you are family sharing this feast, having defeated the enemy
