Real Mothers

REAL Mothers...

5 I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and now, I am convinced, is in you also. 11 Christian Standard Bible (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2020), 2 Ti 1:5.

Real faith, genuine faith, sincere faith...

Three kinds of mothers:

Those that give birth and have children. These kinds of mothers have children for selfish reasons. What they can get out of it?

Those that give birth and raise children.

Those that don’t give birth, but raise and nurture “children”

Surrogate mothers can give birth for someone else

Surrogate mothers can be a mother to those whose mother doesn’t mother them

Real mothers pray and trust God for their children

Real mothers teach their children by precept and example.

Real mothers sacrifice for their children by putting their needs first. Not wants, needs. They don’t spoil their children, but raise them in the nurture and in the admonition of the Lord(I love my children, really?)

Real mothers will always point the way to God, thru Jesus Christ.

Real mothers that give birth

Real mothers that are adoptive mothers, step mothers, those that take on motherhood by choice.

Spiritual mothers. Mothers in the church. They see the need for others to be “mothered” and let God use them as spiritual mothers. Older women teaching the younger women.

Eve had a son, but she:

Disobeyed, sinned, doubted, listened to the wrong voice, defied her husband, and pleased herself. Her son killed his brother and a culture of sin came from her actions.

Mary had a son:

Obey, believed, listened to the right voice, surrendered to God’s will for her life over her own. Her Son set an example of God’s will and gave His life for our sins.

What kind of mother do you want to be? What kind of mother are you?

Not about being a perfect mother, but being authentic and having a “genuine faith” a real mother.

Your genuine (real) faith will affect generations after you.

Real mothers...

Have faith. Trust God and His Word...

Obey God. Do what He says not what they think, what is popular, politically correct, or what you want?

Know that God can do miracles in their lives and the lives of their children. Let Him. Don’t get in the way.

Pray, a lot.

Make Jesus and the salvation he brings the focus of everything in your life. Point them to Jesus.

Mothers have an awesome responsibility

Let the Holy Spirit do a work in you today. Be encouraged and determined to be “real”.

Start where you are...grow into it.

Today we want to honor, thank, and encourage the “real” mothers...

We are thankful for the Mothers who have passed on, left a legacy for us to live on, let it be a passing of the baton to choose to be a mother to others.

Grandmothers who started it in many of us.

Mother that are in the middle of doing it right now...we want to pray for you and encourage you to the best “real” mother you can.

We pray for the all mothers for strength, wisdom, courage, and discernment to be the REAL mothers God has called them to be
