12th Grade Graduation at Preston to see Ariel walk across the stage was a great evening.
The Superintendent: Mr. Mark Hudson Speaking to the Graduates of the class of 2023 said,
“The Best thing you can do is to…Get up and go to school. Get up and go to work.” Mr. Mark Hudson, Preston Superintendent
This is truly a principle for life, but also...
Truly a characteristic of an Engaging Mother to take care of her family.
It is always great when there are two in the home, mom and a dad, but often for one reason or another— Single moms — Wow!
Working, caring, cooking, cutting the grass, playing, housework, and raising kids
Wow!
Single parenting!
We have some of those parents here at cf…if you know one it’s time to pray in JESUS NAME!
to get through the day
to do their best
to manage their house well… and when things fall apart… God and we the church will be their.
Even the under the best circumstances, mom will reflect that they could have done that better and possibly shed a few tears along the way.
The 1st Valedictorian who spoke that night at Ariel’s graduation
Talked about Falling forward, leaning into challenges
Then she described this FALLING as a type of Failure.
A type of failure where we stumble and make decisions that don’t keep us balanced—thus we fall.
The Valedictorian then said the phrase,
“Failure is God’s redirection!” Preston Valedictorian
FALLING FORWARD: this is where you are...
On your face, humble, broken, apologetic, embarrassed — But then— God
GOD’S REDIRECTION!
Refocus - the moment “turn your eye upon Jesus”
Psalm 105:4 NIV
4 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
Repent - saying “I sorry” or “I was wrong” go along way with God and with kids
1 John 1:9 NLT
9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
Relinquish - staying in control can be harmful as we all need to work through our situations in growing up. For a mom that calls on the name of the Lord, She has already won.
James 4:7 NLT
7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:10 NLT
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
Reestablish - get back into the fray. Reestablish that you have not given up, that you are on the winning team and that you are more than an overcomer.
Proverbs 13:4 NLT
4 Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.
Lastly,
Step into a Real Relationship with Father!
(Okay maybe there isn’t a fake relationship, but sometimes I feel that we place house with God instead of walking out a real relationship.)
Barbie and Ken are pretend.
Classmates, workmates, and real life kids—well, that is where true relationships are needed.
God wants us just like we are—no pretend.
David said...
Proverbs 28:13 NLT
13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Jesus said...
Matthew 6:24 NLT
24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
“enslaved to money” = to invest your life into “idolatry”
Colossians 3:5 NLT
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
I hope I haven’t strayed to far here?
I want us to see that serving God is our focus
As a mother serves her children and give them her undivided attention, we too must give our attention to Father and serve Him and those around us with the same undying love that Jesus gave for us.
Thank you mothers for all you do!
May your life investment into your children and those around you bring eternal rewards and a heart full in being the ONE God created you to be!
