Series Recap
Week one: Jesus gives us a clean canvas, the ability to create a new life
Week two: Coloring in the lines to share the gospel in a way in which people have an encounter with the one who created them
Week three: We were created for collaboration, we are more than better together, we were created for one another
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
‌Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken
You can go fast alone, but you can go further together.
We were made for collaboration
____________PRAY_____________
Story of how best and worst moments often times include other people
The best work I’ve ever done, had included others, similarly, some of the best work we will ever do is likely to include one another
The problem we run into is that people are messy…
Acts 2:1
“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.”
How messy was this?
What type of challenges arose?
READ Acts 6:1-7
Observation #1 : Collaboration can be messy
Acts 6:1-2
“Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.”
Observation #2: In order to be united, there must be humility.
What’s more important, what I want, or what is best for the church as a whole
Observation #3: it’s better to be a part of the body rather than an amputee
The Apostles chose people who had qualifications and gifts to serve the body...
