Hebrews 12:1-3
Let us say that this tube represents Jesus.
Jesus is all powerful right?
And when he was on earth he had to persevere under many trials
People were mean to him
He was accused of blasphemy, basically he was equal with god
He was whipped
He was beaten
He was crucified on a cross and left to die, which he did.
At any point Jesus could have flown off, disappeared, called down fire from heaven, asked for thousands of angels, but he didn’t.
Jesus chose to persevere under the pressure of being treated unfairly and wrong.
Now lets say these books represent the pressure Jesus endured under.
Jesus had the strength to persevere under horrible circumstances.
These books are heavy, just like the bad circumstances Jesus underwent.
He was able to persevere to the end.
After three days in the tomb, Jesus rose from the grave.
He conquered death allowing any who believe in him to have eternal life!
See this piece of paper this is you and me trying to persevere under the pressure we face in this life.
Can we do it on our own?
Will this paper hold the weight of the books?
So now let’s wrap this piece of paper around Jesus.
When we are filled with Jesus and the holy spirit, then we can persevere through whatever life throws at us.
It will not me easy, but we can do it with Jesus’ power in us.
