Matthew 12:14–21 NKJV
14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him. 15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. 16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles. 19 He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory; 21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”

1. Our Lord is an example of Grace under fire.

Matthew 12:14–15 NKJV
14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him. 15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.
Romans 7:4 NKJV
4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
The Holy Spirit that dwells in you gives us power to be Christ like in all circumstances.
The last thing in the world I want to do is be Holier than thou, that is hypocrisy, I also don’t want to make it easy for us not to excel in our relationship with God.
if you learn to quote 3-4 verses on a few topics you might appear to “really know the word but in due time the people that are around you every day will know who you are.

Know the word… but also let the word know you!

Be a maker not a faker!

what do you mean be a maker, not a faker.
know more than what the word says, know more than what it means in a discussion on the passage or topic, know what it has meant.
it doesn't matter so much “what you know” what matters is how we live.
recently a dear friend has lost his ever loving mind, it would be easy for me to become holier than thou, two things;
1. that’s not the guy i want to be “look at me I’m better than you.”
2. Rather, I want to be in your corner yelling get up!
Now, in getting up we have to make the wrongs right, that's hard for many of us because we want the other side to admit their wrongs first.
The Christian life dose not work that way. In the walk of the spirit we do the right for the sake of our saviour.

In the Christian faith, we fight against Sunday saints, and Monday aints!

2. Jesus did not allow their intent to murder Him move Him, but, through the power of the spirit stayed in control.

Matthew 12:15 NKJV
15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.
1 Corinthians 12:8 NKJV
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
Jesus recieved a word of knowledge from the Lord. and in wisdom He with drew.
it is simple to see this in the life of Jesus and say, “oh yes, I see how Jesus stayed in control of his emotions and controlled the situation.”
what about the people in your life, do we see how the emotional games we play are tools of the enemy.
a simple thing said in frustration to a spouse like “ I don’t know if I can do this” can put a severe crack in the foundation of a marriage that will cause huge problems later.
a serious place of idolatry in or culture is “for the Children.” or in the case of step families instead of our kids they become “my kids” again. (recognize that there some people who don’t treat kids right.) How often is it that the step parent feels like the partner is taking the side of the kids in fear and shame. in this church maybe more than most it might be true if the Children are able to say “ she or he always chooses ____ over me.
date for longer than you want. pray that Gods will be done for your life, but once you are married put God’s priorities in your marriage.

3. In spite of His surroundings he stayed focused on His Purpose.

Matthew 12:16–21 NKJV
16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles. 19 He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory; 21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”

it seems to me that according to the text Jesus had a three pronged Purpose:

1. Healing all the sick.

2. Fulfilling Prophecy

3.Encouraging the struggling.
