You are the Potter we are the Clay
Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O Lord, thou art our father; We are the clay, and thou our potter; And we all are the work of thy hand.”
Lord we thank you for all that you have done for us. You are truly the potter and we are the clay. We stop this morning to tell you thank you Sir. now may the word of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight for you are my strength and you are my redeemer.
To day we come to talk about a master craftsman who is responsible for all of us. From conception to death. We are mold into what God wants us to be. He puts his all in us, he knows every strain of hair on our heads and everything about us. From the time we are born we are being shape and mold into what we are today. (2.) He confesses his original corruption (Ps. 51:5): Behold, I was shapen in iniquity. He does not call upon God to behold it, but upon himself. “Come, my soul, look unto the rock out of which I was hewn, and thou wilt find I was shapen in iniquity. Had I duly considered this before, I find I should not have made so bold with the temptation, nor have ventured among the sparks with such tinder in my heart; and so the sin might have been prevented. Let me consider it now, not to excuse or extenuate the sin—Lord, I did so; but indeed I could not help it, my inclination led me to it”
