Introduction

As we enter this summer, we are going to be building our entire summer on this one word, Together.
Can I tell you that we were never meant to be alone?
Think back to the garden of eden, when God gave Adam, Eve and said it’s not good for man to be alone
or think even the New Testament with Jesus himself, surrounding himself with the 12 disciples to pour out his spirit into them and to avoid being alone.
God created us for community, for togetherness.
I have two dogs, we have our newest dog Romeo, who is a fully grown year and a half old 20 pound mini poodle, Romeo came from a sad situation, he never got walks, he never really got to leave his cage, so now that we have him his entire lifestyle has shifted to a way more active lifestyle, including daily walks and unless we are gone a cage free life.
However
When we take Romeo on his daily walks sometimes he gets a little stubborn, sits down mid walk, and pulls away. It’s frustrating right, because you know that walks are good for him and that he should press on, but for some reason it seems his past has built up a fear of moving forward into the unknown.
Now,
I also have a 4 and a half year old 95 pound fully grown German Shepherd named Zion. Now Zion loves his walks, he could do it all day long, he plays fetch, he plays tug of war, he’s just a dog that wants to GO.
We started bringing Zion on the daily walks too with Romeo and what we found is that when Zion is there and is moving forward and enjoying every moment of the walk, Romeo doesn’t get so stubborn, he doesn’t sit down mid walk, and he doesn’t pull away.
All Romeo needed in those moments of fear of the unknown was someone by his side that was all in.
In our lives too, we need that, I would say more often than not we need someone by our side in those dark moments of life where everything seems unknown.
I think scripture backs this up, read with me today in Hebrews 10:24-25

Body

Hebrews 10:24–25 CSB
24 And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, 25 not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
It’s not good for man to be alone. Don’t forsake the gathering amongst each other, but even more so ask yourself who am I gathering amongst right now?
Are the people you put yourself around provoking love and good works!?
or are they pulling you away from Christ and his family
God created us for community, for togetherness.

#1 Know Yourself

I need togetherness, I am not the guy who is strong enough on his own to handle satan and the challenges of this life, sometimes we let our pride take over and tell us we are that guy, but in reality if we really checked ourselves we would realize how blind we are to think that.
but Know the situations in which you need to put people around you to build you more toward Christ.
Don’t compromise on those relationships and togetherness, if someone doesn’t respect you for what you believe then they will never ever be able to build you toward God.
God created us for community, for togetherness.
