Introduction

Making a statement is certainly an important thing for people to learn to do well. When a new coach, new boss, or new leader step into a role. There is often advice that is given that in order for that person to be affective, they need to make a statement. They need to do something to differentiate. themselves.
Churches like to do this is as well. Churches are great at making statements. They thrive off of it. Unfortunately, churches tend to try and make statements more than they try to follow the statements of Scripture.
I am not criticizing statements or declarations by the church. There are multiple statements we ought to always be ready to make. God Loves us. Jesus is God. He lived a perfect life and died for those who believe and have cleansed of us of all unrighteousness. He was born of a virgin. He rose on the third day.
You get the point I am making. Statements are good in their own place. Jesus made several. Buttttt when Jesus was interacting with most people, how did He often communicate? HE WOULD ASK QUESTIONS.
These questions were not because he didnt know the answer, but because He was often even making a statement by asking these questions. These questions were rarely if ever yes or no questions. But open ended questions in order to create a conversation.
“You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions.”
Since we began this church plant 2 years ago, I have certainly asked a lot of questions. Mostly to myself at times. The one I most frequently feel like I am asking is this, WHAT AM I DOING?
I dont mean that in a negative way as if I feel I have made a mistake, but I feel it is important to keep in the mindset of who we are, where we are going, and what we are doing.
At one point, Jesus was speaking to his disciples and they were talking about their commitment to following him and Jesus says this ,

62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Motorcycle analogy, “Where your eyes go the bike will follow”
We have to continue to ask the right questions and keep our eyes pointed in the right direction.
This is indeed our last Sunday here at AMC. That means just exactly that. It isnt the last Sunday for KCC or for its future in this community. But is its last Sunday here.
From the very beginning we have done things a little differently than what I think we are all Use to. That was a hard adjustment in the beginning, BUT BEING DIFFERENT HAS BECOME OUR NEW NORMAL.
In the weeks and months ahead, that will continue to be the case. Things will be different. But after a lot of discussion with most of you, we believe this to be a great blessing and the next catalyst for Spiritual growth at KCC.
KCC will not look like the standard church, that we have mostly been accustomed to. That is not because we are better or have it “more figured out”. But it is because that is what we believe God is specifically calling us to be for this community.
I dont know a ton about business, but I can tell you this, you dont go to a town of square heads and try to sell circle hats.
So what are the questions we need to be asking and what is the direction we need to be moving?
So let me remind you of this. These two statements have not changed about KCC and we believe them to be true.
Mission: Knoxville Community Church exists to mobilize our community to make disciples.
Vision: We aim to see those that wander find their home in Jesus Christ.
Those two things are what guide us on the questions we ask and how we move forward.
It has to, There must be a common goal for any team, group, movement to ever happen.
So with those statements in mind, I want to ask and answer a few questions and then we will dismiss this morning.
What are the things KCC does really well and we should continue to do moving forward?

41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand asouls.

42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and ato prayer.

43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.

44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;

45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.

46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,

47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

This is something we do well. We should keep that in mind moving forward.
care for others
take them a meal
serve and give to one another
2. What should our priorities be over the next year as we continue to serve and grow together?
We met and here are some priorities that we mapped out that we need to focus on and get in place over the next year.
We need hands

The jerusalem counsel
4. What ****AM I**** doing specifically to take part in mobilizing this community to make disciples and helping those that are lost find their home in Christ?

12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.

13 For aby one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.

16 And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.

17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?

18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.

19 If they were all one member, where would the body be?

20 But now there are many members, but one body.
