Winning the Battle For the Mind

Philipians 4:8-9

I. Introduction

A. There is a Battle raging today, a battle not in the physical sense.

2 Corinthians 10:4-52 Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”

B. The Battle is in your mind.

i) Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,”

C. The Battle is for control of you.

II. Perpetual Choice

A. Constant fight

I) Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.”

B. Challenging fight

i)Romans 8:7 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.”

Ii) James 1:8 “he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

C. Crucial fight

III. Powerful Charge

A.Transformed Mind

i) Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

In His Promise (In Truth God’s Word)

In HIs Purpose ( things that are noble)

In HIs Provsion (righteousness)

In His Purity (whatever is Pure)

In His Power ( whatever is Lovely)

In His Praise (whatever is Praiseworthy)
