The psalmist calls the people of God to trust in God instead of idols. Idols promise much but cannot deliver. The God of the Bible, on the other hand, delivers what the idols cannot. Therefore, we trust in God because he is our help and shield, and will bless us. The greatest blessing that God has poured out for us is secured in Christ. Therefore, trust in Christ, not in idols.
