Following Jesus (No Matter What) John 21

I. Wherever Jesus sends. (21:1-2).)

It's easy to stay where it's nice and comfortable, but Jesus had said to go. (Mark 16:15; Matt. 28:19).

II. However long it takes. (21:3).

We need to beware of the "when I... then I syndrome."

Someday may never come! (John 9:4, James 4:13-14).

III. Whatever Jesus commands.

• A. Even when it sounds crazy. (21:4-6; Lk. 5:4-6; John 21:6-14).
• B. Even if it means sacrifice. (21:15-17).

Key phrase:"more than these." (21:15; Matt. 10:37-39).

IV. Whatever it costs. (21:18-23).

• A. Be faithful even if it gets us killed. (18-19).
• B. Be faithful no matter what anyone else does. (20-23).
