BECOMING BY BEHOLDING:

THE GREATER THINGS OF GOD ARE NOT FOR THE CASUAL OBSERVER: BUT FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE!

PUT SOME RESPECT ON MY NAME: I AM INFINATELY WORTHY OF YOUR FAITH

I. WE ARE INVITED TO A HOLY ACCESS TO THE FATHER

Mark 11:22 ESV

And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.

TO THE CHARACTER OF GOD

THE GOD WHO IS FAITHFULLY TRUE :

TO HIS PROMISES - ROM

THE GOD WHO IS FAITHFULLY GENEROUS

James 1:5 ESV

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Ephesians 3:20 ESV

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

THE GOD WHO FAITHFULLY REWARDS

Hebrews 11:6 ESV

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

II. WE ARE CALLED TO A HOLY AMBITION IN CHRIST

Mark 11:23 ESV

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Mark 11:24 ESV

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

GOD IS THE AMBITION OF THE FAITHFUL

Hebrews 11:6 ESV

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

III. WE MUST HAVE HOLY AFFECTIONS FROM THE SPIRIT

Mark 11:25 ESV

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

- UNFORGIVENESS IS A CONTRARY AFFECTION

o HERE IS THE POINT:

PRAYING WHILE HARBORING UNFORGIVENESS:

(being in the presence of God) FROM/WITH AN UNFORGIVING HEART

- You are standing before the Lord like an accused person

Zechariah 3:1 ESV

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

Reflects something of the ENEMY’S DESIGN AGAINST YOU

- Reflects a Heart of Pride

Luke 18:11 ESV

The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

-Reflects a heart that Is Not and Will Not be forgiven

Matthew 6:12 ESV

and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Matthew 6:14–15 ESV

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
