NOTES : THIS PARTICULAR BOOK WAS WRITTEN DOING THE TIME WHEN ISREAL WAS DIVIDED A DIVIDED NATION IT IS NATION THAT IS BEING WARNED OF GOD’S COMING JUGDGEMENT . While we are talking about the blessing’s God, We Also need to recognize there is a just side of God He will not let you keep doing sin and chastise you If you can keep living a life of sin and God”s never punish you , you need to evaluate .and examine youself. whether you are really one of his children.
But. what great about God is After the Last 39 Chapters of warning of God. The final 27 chapter”s deal:s with the comfort From God He is a God who will whip you and then he will put his arms around you after he has whip you.
And so, the scripture tells us and teaches us that this comfort becomes a part of us it comes in this 61 Chapter it is a significant Chapter .It is a significant Chapter because it prophesie about Jesus it is this section of scripture that Jesus read in Luke when he walk into the temple and he unrolled the stroll ,it was this passage of scripture that he read ,what is significant about this passage.but this is passage that he read He say that he has been anointed me.
Isaiah 61: 1 “The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is upon me, because Yahweh has anointed me, he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives and liberation to those who are bound,”
Isaiah :61: 2 “to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and our God’s day of vengeance, to comfort all those in mourning,”
isaiah :61: 3 “to give for those in mourning in Zion, to give them a head wrap instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of a faint spirit. And they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, to show his glory.”

TO WHOM WRITTEN: the Southern Kingdom of Judah in particular and to the human race in general. The book of Isaiah was first written to the small nation of Judah:
⇒ to present God’s wonderful salvation to all who would listen
⇒ to warn people of the penalty of sin if they continued to disobey and reject God
⇒ to comfort those who trusted in the LORD
⇒ to paint a graphic picture of the Messiah, both of His suffering for the sins of the world and of His coming reign over the world
PURPOSE:
1. The Historical Purpose:
a. To record God’s prophecies concerning Judah and Jerusalem (chs. 1–12).
b. To record God’s judgment of the nations and His triumph over the world (chs. 13–27).
c. To record God’s warnings to His people (chs. 28–35).
d. To document the reign of Hezekiah and his deliverance from Assyria, showing how his reign marked a shift from the threat of Assyria to the captivity of Judah by Babylon (chs. 36–39).
e. To record God’s prophecies concerning Israel’s deliverance, comfort, and glorious future (chs. 40–64).
f. To record God’s prophecies that give a glimpse into the millennial reign of Christ on earth and the fulfillment of human history (chs. 65–66).
2. The Doctrinal or Spiritual Purpose:
a. To call God’s people back to salvation and faithfulness (chs. 1–6).
b. To prophesy of the coming Messiah (chs. 7–12).
c. To warn other nations of the futility of trying to stand against the sovereign LORD (chs. 13–35).
d. To illustrate through the life of Hezekiah the tremendous delivering power of the LORD, no matter what the circumstances (chs. 36–39).
e. To give comfort to the people of God, assuring them that they will never be forgotten (chs. 40–48).
f. To paint a graphic picture of the Messiah, the Suffering Servant of the LORD (chs. 49–53).
g. To share the prophecies concerning the reign of Christ—His ability to avenge His people and restore all things (chs. 54–66).
3. The Christological or Christ-Centered Purpose: prophecies concerning Christ are more clearly seen in the book of Isaiah than in any other Old Testament book except for Psalms. Isaiah foresaw at least twenty prophecies about the Messiah. (For a complete list of Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Christ, see 9:1–7, DEEPER STUDY #3.)
The richest passage in Isaiah concerning Jesus Christ is 52:13–53:12, where Isaiah describes in detail the passion (sacrificial death) of the Savior. In this beloved section of Scripture, we see Christ fulfilling the sacrificial work of the Law on the cross. This is vitally important to Isaiah, because he understood that Christ would do more than cover sin—He would actually cleanse from sin all who would believe. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, came through David’s family line (11:1) and died for the sins of the world, just as Isaiah foretold (53:4–5).
SPECIAL FEATURES:

CHAPTER 61
B. The Gift of Salvation Through the Coming Savior, 61:1–62:12
1. The promise of salvation through the coming Savior
a. The Savior’s anointing: To be filled with God’s Spirit
b. The Savior’s mission
1) To preach to the poor
2) To heal the brokenhearted
3) To proclaim freedom to those held captive
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
4) To proclaim the year of God’s salvation & the coming day of judgment
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
5) To comfort all who mourn & grieve
• Give them the clothing of beauty, gladness, joy, & praise
• Give them a name, a testimony of righteousness: So that the Savior may be glorified
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
c. The Savior’s kingdom & its blessings of salvation: A picture of life in His coming kingdom, 60:1–22
1) A restored nation: God’s people will rebuild all destroyed cities
2) A position of authority: Others will serve under believers in Jerusalem
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
3) A name of honor: They will be called priests of the LORD, ministers of God
4) A nation that is the world’s commercial center
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
5) A double inheritance in the promised land
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
6) A society free of criminals & lawlessness
7) An everlasting covenant: A new & eternal relationship with God—through Christ, He. 9:15–18; 10:1–18
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
8) A strong honor before the world: All people will acknowledge God’s blessings to Israel
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
9) A nation filled with joy & rejoicing: All the citizens of Zion will praise God
• Because the LORD has clothed them in salvation & righteousness
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
• Because the LORD causes the seed of righteousness & praise to spring up in all nations
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
