Two people, an unnamed woman and Judas make decisions that will live on as a testimony for or against them.
Mary gives her all
Mary gives her all
She broke the box to give her all
She did not measure or calculate a gift (from her heart)
This was a gift from her heart in response to the gift Jesus had given her
He loved her and taught her from the beginning (Luke 10:38-42)
He raised her brother from the dead (John 11)
She did what she could
Others considered it a waste but she did what God led her to do
She came aforehand to anoint his body for burying
This is a type of prophesy that God used Mary to proclaim because she was willing
She wrought a good work on Christ
first commandment is to love God, second is to love others
Use the opportunities we are given to show love to Christ first and to others as well
Everyone has opinions about what others should do, but we must learn to ask ourselves what God would have me to do. Mary will be remembered because of her love toward Christ. What is God leading YOU to do?
Judas takes his price
Judas takes his price
Accused others of wastefullness and selfishness while his own heart was corrupted by these things
Jesus knew his heart and the disciples discovered it later (John 12:5-6)
Many times our accusations about others will reveal wickedness in our own hearts
He came to Jesus to get what he could not to give what he had
Sold Jesus for the price of a slave (Exodus 21:32)
He looked for opportunities to serve himself
He believed he deserved his cut and would do anything to get it
What will you be remembered for? Giving your all to love Jesus, critisizing other’s decisions about how they serve God or serve others?
