This past Sunday we talked about living our life is an advert. Why? Because the world is watching.
But why would we care? Are we doing it because we want to do good before God? Yes. But what would be another reason we would show the world we are different?
(Wait)
Jude 23 (ESV)
23 save others by snatching them out of the fire;
As Christians we should understand that we need to be urgent.
What does URGENT mean?
There is a reason we live life as an advert. There is a reason we care about the people we see every day. Because there is a day coming for every person. A day of judgement that everyone will face.
***Name a person***
________ will one day stand before God. And based on a decision they have made, it will determine their eternity. That decision is simple, Did they choose to follow Christ, or did they choose to turn away from Him.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
For _______________, if they have not followed Christ and their Lord and Savior, not just by saying it, but living it, that is their eternity.
The reason we live life as an advert is because time is running out. We need to understand the urgency and see that time is running out.
—Ask— How should this make us feel?
We should have compassion on those who do not know Jesus.
Look at how Jesus saw those who were lost...
36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Everyday, you pass those who are helpless and don’t have hope....but you have the hope they need. You know the hope they need. The question is, do you understand time is running out. We need to see that it is urgent that we act now! And Jesus told us what to do in the verses from Sunday...
47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Beginning in Opi. That’s what he is pointing to for you.
Do you understand that the time is urgent?
So what do we say? How can we give them the gospel. How can we snatch them from the fire.
You can’t save them. Only God can.
We are all called to proclaim, but it is the working of the Holy Spirit to save.
When we live our life as an advert, we are committed to not only doing the right thing, but sharing about what Jesus did for our friends.
What did he do? He came to save. He died. He rose again. And he made a way for us to have a true relationship with God.
All of that can be put together in one word: GOSPEL. When you hear the word GOSPEL, it means Good News, and the good news is what Jesus did for everyone.
Look at this picture:
Acrostic: One word, and take the first letter to explain something. The word GOSPEL.
This is a very simple way to share with someone who does not have a relationship with Jesus. There are verses that go with this, and they are very important in the process of sharing teh gospel
