We need to seek the anointing of Holy Spirit for any ministry we walk in. This is true for deliverance ministry most definitely!
We must leave the comfortable and step into confrontation.
The church has persecuted deliverance
Mark 1:21-28 “Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.”
Churches today would remove the man from the service, but Jesus removed the demons from the man!
But notice here that Jesus didn’t point out the demon. The anointing that was on Jesus caused the demon to manifest!
Luke 4:18 ““The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;”
Holy Spirit is the anointing we need!
The more we seek Holy Spirit…the more we learn about Him, and grow in a deep relationship with Him, and the more we receive from Him…the more effective our ministry of deliverance will be!
But the problem is that many of us aren’t seeking Holy Spirit. We aren’t walking in holiness and we quench the Spirit.
If you want to be effective in any ministry you must walk in the anointing of the Spirit! Which means you need to be in close relationship with Him!
Many people never face the enemy publicly, because they are defeated privately!
We must defeat the enemy privately before we can truly walk in the anointing of deliverance!
He will use us in our failures and weaknesses, but you must walk in repentance! You must be grieved by sin and determined to let Holy Spirit lead you to freedom!
King Saul could not face Goliath, because he had no anointing! He had the title. He had the audience. He had everything you could need, but because he had no anointing he could not overcome the enemy!
The more that we walk in the anointing of the Holy Spirit the more we can see one of the main roles He has in deliverance!
Acts 28:1-6 “Now when they had escaped, they then found out that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.”
The flame brings out the serpents!
Daniel 2:20-22 “Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him.”
Pride quenches the Spirit
Don’t get so full of yourself that Holy Spirit can’t fill you up!
We must decrease so He can increase!
Matthew 12:28 “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Luke 11:20 “But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Holy Spirit is the finger of God. The finger points and exposes the enemy. He also leaves His fingerprint on us!
The more you have a heart of love for Holy Spirit and for His people…the more the anointing will be on you!
Judgement and criticism quench the Spirit. You are exposing…not Holy Spirit!
It’s not up to you! It’s not about you!
If you make a mistake…it’s ok! Repent! We all do!
