Foundational Truths # 3: God Has A Plan
Notes
Transcript
God has always had a plan to rescue us from our sin and get us back to Him. The world is broken and dark, but Jesus is the light and hope for all people.
Relevant Bible Verses:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
11 And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a potter’s vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury.
13 And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.

A: Bad things like disasters, sickness, and death are results of our original sin that broke the world, and God does allow them to happen, but has also offered us the free gift of salvation. God is sovereign, and His will and His plan are perfect.

We want our students to understand....
Everything that has happened, is happening, and ever will happen, is all part of God's big plan.
God's plan and His will are perfect, and always better than ours.
We can and should try to 'align' our daily choices and life goals with what God wants for us.
The "end" of God's plan for humanity is to destroy evil once and for all, restore everything that is broken, and bring us all home to His perfect Kingdom of Heaven forever and ever.
It is the greatest privilege ever that God has invited us to be part of His plan to redeem mankind, just like the heroes in the Bible.
