5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
Today we are going examine a scripture that has helped me and many other in the most difficult moments and most triumphant victories.
It seems good to the HOLY GHOST to remind God’s people to be anchored to the rock no matter what life brings.
The purpose of this Kingdom message today is to help God’s Kingdom citizens that have received Christ as their LORD and person Savior to be stedfast in their faith and trust in God through the high and the lows of life. To be faithful and trust in the LORD no matter what life brings.
Life is full of moments that are considered be highs - moment where everything you touch is goal.
You get the spouse you prayed for
You get the career, business, or promotion your welcome believing for.
Get your dream home
Travel to a places that you dreamed of
Received an unexpected windfall of finances.
You get a clean bill of health from doctor’s report.
Your children are doing well.
You have more than enough.
Believe or not some people lose their trust when life is going well.
Let briefly examine a story in the Bible that shares how some one could lose focus during times of goodness and prosperity. Luke 12:16-21
Luke 12:16–21 (KJV 1900)
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Simply speaking this person Trusted in riches more than he trusted in God! 1 Timothy 6:17
1 Timothy 6:17 KJV 1900
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
On the other hand, life may bring storms and trails that are messy, catastrophic and deadly.
Your get fired or find out company is going out of business. Or you may be a business owner that no stay in business due to forces out of your control.
You experience a divorce, separation, or breakup or a spouse dies.
Your children experience trouble and hardship
You get a horrible report from doctor regarding your health.
You feel stuck in a career you no longer enjoy.
You experience abuse, violence, .and persecution
You experience the death of parent, or a child.
You experience mental, emotional, and spiritual trauma and tribulation.
Lack, homelessness, addictions.
Do not allow these storm to cause us to lose our trust and confidence in God
Example: The storm: Mark 4: 35-40
Mark 4:35–40 (KJV 1900)
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
How do we maintain our faith through the high and low in life.
1 We get to know Him through spending time, studying , meditating on WORD of God
Today I pray that you would leave from the congregational meeting saying no matter what life may bring me I will TRUST IN HIM.
What does TRUST look like?
Trust looks ship captain that lost his way on the sea because his computerized navigation system failed and he must rely on the compass and charts. He still because he the ship and waters.
A pilot of a ship the studies his craft can remind calm, cool , and navigate ships through difficult passages, such as narrow channels, stormy river mouths, and harbors with heavy ship traffic. With millions of dollars of cargo (such as cars, oil, or military troops) on ships larger than a football field.
Likewise the pilot of an aircraft can safely steer a plane as even through a storm as long as he listens to the aircraft traffic controller.
God is our life traffic controller so therefore we can remain at peace during the most difficult storms.
We shared a Word a few weeks ago from Isaiah 26:3
Isaiah 26:3 KJV 1900
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
Trust keep us at peace,
Trust allows us to count it all joy
James 1:2–4 KJV 1900
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
How do we get trust?
Trust comes from spending time with one you trust.
Trust come communicating with one you trust.
Trust come from practice discipline, study, and honoring the you trust. ( Prayer, meditation, and study)
So when The WORD OF GOD says Trust it is not just talking about a nonchalant, take it or leave relationship. It talking a TOTAL confidence gained by diligence to learn of the one you trust.
Take time to get full of God’s word.
Colossians 3:16 KJV 1900
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Take my yoke and learn of me. Matt 11: 29-30
Matthew 11:29–30 KJV 1900
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
What is Trust?
Trust (b tah) be confident; confident, to depend on
Picture of trust - lean on, to rely on, to lay to put your weight on;
Lean not to your understanding
Peter had confident so he cast the net on the other side.

Proverbs 3 (KJV 1900)
1 My son, forget not my law; But let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, And peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding In the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones. 9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, And with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, And thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; Neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. 13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, And the man that getteth understanding. 14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, And the gain thereof than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies: And all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand; And in her left hand riches and honour. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her. 19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; By understanding hath he established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, And the clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: Keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, And grace to thy neck. 23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, And thy foot shall not stumble. 24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. 25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. 26 For the Lord shall be thy confidence, And shall keep thy foot from being taken. 27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, When it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; When thou hast it by thee. 29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, Seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. 30 Strive not with a man without cause, If he have done thee no harm. 31 Envy thou not the oppressor, And choose none of his ways. 32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: But his secret is with the righteous. 33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: But he blesseth the habitation of the just. 34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: But he giveth grace unto the lowly. 35 The wise shall inherit glory: But shame shall be the promotion of fools.
What will you allow to separate you from God’s will.
As we close today lets remember that trust does not depend on us. Trust is the complete confidence in our LORD to help, keep, and deliver no matter what.
