Evangelist
We see that John Mark was possibly from a wealthy family in Jerusalem.
While he was not perfect, Mark left the comforts of home to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Seeing Jesus

The “gospel” of Jesus Christ is the good news of his victory.
Jesus is the Messiah - the Son of God
Messiah is the Jewish term for the chosen one of God.
Mark show in his gospel how the disciples and the crowds had a false understanding of the Messiah.
The Son of God was also misunderstood by the Jews and Greeks.
The Jews that this was the Davidic King who would bring military triumph and governmental power.
Augustus Caesar (27 BC-14 AD) called himself the son of God
