Receive God’s Word

The city of Jericho had a water problem. It was destroying their crops.
Bitterness will ruin many lives - Hebrews 12:14-15 “Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;”
The leaders sought for Elisha to provide a remedy. The remedy came from God’s Word.
A contrast - those who reject God’s Word meet with death.

Seek God’s Direction

When we fail to seek the Lord before our endeavors we will make unholy alliances, unwise plans, and meet unexpected problems.
There is a remedy - seek the Lord!
Pray - Elisha sought the Lord himself.
Prepare - dig a valley full of ditches!
Praise - at the morning grain offering - an act of worship.
God’s answer came abundantly and provided victory!
