God:

Peace and Harmony

a. We are not always going to agree.
i. Philippians 4:2–3 (NLT) — 2 Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. 3 And I ask you, my true partner, to help these two women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. They worked along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life.

ii. Two women, Euodia and Syntyche at odds in the church
iii. Doesn’t matter what the agreement was about.
iv. It was hurting the gospel.
b. The Bible is plain spoken on this subject.
i. Philippians 2:1–2 (NLT) — 1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

iv. 1 Peter 3:8–9 (NLT) — 8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted and keep a humble attitude. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

You:
4. Harmony in the Church.

Just imagine:

Thriving community.

a. Just imagine.
i. A church that we love to attend.
ii. A church that is the highlight of your week.
iii. Imagine what that church can do in a community.
