Hechos de los Apóstoles 2:41–47 (RVR60)

41 Así que, los que recibieron su palabra fueron bautizados; y se añadieron aquel día como tres mil personas.

42 Y perseveraban en la doctrina de los apóstoles, en la comunión unos con otros, en el partimiento del pan y en las oraciones.

43 Y sobrevino temor a toda persona; y muchas maravillas y señales eran hechas por los apóstoles.

44 Todos los que habían creído estaban juntos, y tenían en común todas las cosas;

45 y vendían sus propiedades y sus bienes, y lo repartían a todos según la necesidad de cada uno.

46 Y perseverando unánimes cada día en el templo, y partiendo el pan en las casas, comían juntos con alegría y sencillez de corazón,

47 alabando a Dios, y teniendo favor con todo el pueblo. Y el Señor añadía cada día a la iglesia los que habían de ser salvos.

41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.

44 All the believers were together and had everything in common.

45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.

46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Señales y evidencias

-Hemos dicho que el libro de los Hechos se dedica a exponer la experiencia del Espíritu Santo y las epístolas enseñan la doctrina.

-We have said that the book of Acts is dedicated to exposing the experience of the Holy Spirit and the epistles teach the doctrine.

-En cuanto al Espíritu Santo, yo creo que hay que diferenciar entre las señales y las evidencias.

-As for the Holy Spirit, I think you have to differentiate between signs and evidence.

Señal: (Signs)

-Signo, seña, marca o medio que informa, avisa o advierte de algo.

-Sign, signal, mark or medium that informs, advises or warns of something.

-Indicio que permite deducir algo de lo que no se tiene un conocimiento directo.

-Indication that allows to deduce something of which there is no direct knowledge.

Evidencia (prueba): (Evidence)

-Conjunto de hechos o de información que indican si una creencia o proposición es verdad o válida.

-A set of facts or information that indicates whether a belief or proposition is true or valid.

-Del latin “evidentia”, aquello que permite indicar una certeza manifiesta que resulta innegable y que no se puede dudar.

-From the Latin “evidentia”, that which allows to indicate a manifest certainty that is undeniable and cannot be doubted.

-En cuanto a las señales, Jesús dijo lo siguiente:

15 Y les dijo: Id por todo el mundo y predicad el evangelio a toda criatura. 16 El que creyere y fuere bautizado, será salvo; mas el que no creyere, será condenado. 17 Y estas señales seguirán a los que creen: En mi nombre echarán fuera demonios; hablarán nuevas lenguas; 18 tomarán en las manos serpientes, y si bebieren cosa mortífera, no les hará daño; sobre los enfermos pondrán sus manos, y sanarán.

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

-El libro de los Hechos registra una señal que es común en casi todos los relatos en que las personas recibían el Espíritu Santo: hablaban en lenguas, o con otro idioma.

-The book of Acts records a sign that is common in almost all accounts of people receiving the Holy Spirit: they spoke in tongues.

-En este caso, las lenguas son una señal de recibir el bautismo del E.S. pero se trata de una experiencia momentánea. (Entre otras cosas, la Biblia no dice literalmente que las lenguas son la “evidencia inicial” de recibir el E.S.).

-In this case, tongues are a sign of receiving the baptism of the H.S. but it is a momentary experience.

-Pero respecto a las evidencias, tanto Hechos como las cartas del NT presentan una serie de evidencias (distintivos del carácter de los creyentes). Pablo por ejemplo nos habla del fruto del Espíritu (Gál. 5.22-23).

-But regarding the evidence, both Acts and the letters of the NT present a series of evidences (distinctives of the character of believers). Paul, for example, tells us about the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5.22-23).

Pruebas o evidencias de la presencia del Espíritu en la primera iglesia | Proofs or evidence of the presence of the Spirit in the first church

‌-Hemos dicho que el significado valioso del Pentecostés se centra en los efectos que la presencia del Espíritu Santo produjo en los que lo recibieron: Denuedo (valor), paciencia, unidad y éxito en su testimonio.

‌-We have said that the valuable meaning of Pentecost focuses on the effects that the presence of the Holy Spirit produced in those who received it: boldness (courage), patience, unity and success in their testimony.

-Los versos 42 y 46 describen una característica especial en los creyentes: perseveraban.

-Verses 42 and 46 describe a special characteristic of believers: they persevered.

-Perseveraban firmes en la enseñanzas de los apóstoles (v. 42)

-Perseveraban firmes en la comunión (v.42, 44-45)

-They persevered steadfast in fellowship (v.42, 44-45)

3. Era un iglesia que adoraba | It was a church that worshiped

-Perseveraban firmes en el partimiento del pan y las oraciones (v. 42, 47)

-They persevered steadfast in the breaking of bread and prayers (v. 42, 47)

-La confraternidad se expresaba no solo en el cuidado que demostraban entre ellos, sino también en el culto de adoración.

-The fellowship was expressed not only in the care they showed among themselves, but also in the worship service.

-Hay dos aspectos de la adoración primitiva: Primero, se desarrollaba en el templo como en las casas.

-There are two aspects of primitive worship: First, it took place in the temple as in the houses.

-Second, it was both joyful and reverent, because they did it with joy and generosity (with unfeigned joy).

4. Era un iglesia que evangelizaba | It was a church that evangelized

-Los tres primeros aspectos nos hablan de la vida interior de la iglesia. Pero los primeros cristianos no estaban solo ocupados aprendiendo, compartiendo y adorando. Ellos también daban testimonio, expandían la fe por medio del testimonio misionero en el poder del Espíritu.

-The first three aspects tell us about the interior life of the church. But the early Christians weren't just busy learning, sharing, and worshipping. They also gave testimony, expanded the faith through missionary testimony in the power of the Spirit.

-El Pentecostés trajo abundancia para la iglesia; abundancia de enseñanza, de comunión, de adoración y de evangelización.

-Pentecost brought abundance to the church; abundance of teaching, communion, adoration and evangelization.

Hechos de los Apóstoles 9:31 (NVI)

31 Mientras tanto, la iglesia disfrutaba de paz a la vez que se consolidaba en toda Judea, Galilea y Samaria, pues vivía en el temor del Señor. E iba creciendo en número, fortalecida por el Espíritu Santo.

31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

-La experiencia del bautismo con el Espíritu Santo fue ratificada por efectos que evidencian y demuestran una verdadera consagración a Dios.

-The experience of the baptism with the Holy Spirit was ratified by effects that show and demonstrate a true consecration to God.

Quien tiene el Espíritu Santo no solo experimenta una conversión privada e individual, sino que se identifica de manera colectiva con su nueva comunidad: La iglesia.

Those who has the Holy Spirit not only experiences a private and individual conversion, but also identifies collectively with his new community: the church.
