First Prayer

Let us pray, PAUSE

Gracious and compassionate God, we come to You in the perfection which we only have in Christ, to give You praise and honor. We come to praise You for Your goodness, to honor You for Your Holiness. We want elevate You as the only One worthy of worship.

Because of these things, and on this particular occasion, we seek to thank You for blessing us with Your servant, Verna. You have been very gracious, not only to her family with the gift of Verna but also to her church family.

Now, according to Your infinite wisdom You have called her home, to remove the restraints of sin and the corruption that is found in this life and You have added to her rewards and a crown of life - Thank You!

Truly, You are a generous God and we thank You for this short time with Verna. Now Heavenly Father as we remember Your servant, Verna, may You guide our hearts into hopeful anticipation of the great day when You will bring with Christ all those who have fallen asleep in Him. We look ahead to the sound of the Shout of the Archangel and the trumpet blast to meet our Beloved in the clouds with Verna. May it be so according to Your perfect timing, amen.

Second Prayer

Let us pray. PAUSE

Yahweh, we do thank You for the love which Verna had for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. We thank You that she is safe in eternity because of what Jesus did on the Cross. We praise You, that by Your grace, You blessed her with saving faith and acting on that faith she lived for You. Yahweh, may we even honor Verna’s memory and glorify You by mirroring her love and faith. It is in Christ’s name we come, amen.
