A blue chip prospect are those who have proven them selves to be among the best at there position in whatever sport that maybe blue chips are more sought out wanted more then the average player and much more is expected from them the term blue chip comes from the reference of a blue poker chip which usally have the highest value on the table, in the history of the NFL only 14 players that were the number one overall pick are in the hall of fame, and i also read that only 46% of the players that are in the NFL hall of fame were drafted in the first round, that means there were alot of bust, a failed prospects things just didnt go as planned or they just wasnt good enough and wont be getting a gold jacket anytime soon but tonight were gonna dive into a blue chip prospect in the bible sampson a story were all familiar with on paper when you look at sampsons life

Samson is the only judge with a birth narrative signaling his auspicious arrival. In vv. 1–25, the Angel of Yahweh appears to his barren mother to announce that she would have a son and that he was to be set apart as a lifelong Nazirite (see Num 6). Her son would begin God’s work of delivering Israel from the Philistines (Judg 13:5). Unlike the other judges who delivered Israel at the head of an army (like Deborah, Gideon, or Jephthah), Samson battles Philistines alone. But like other judges (such as Gideon and Jephthah), Samson is a tragic figure. While he judged Israel for 20 years (15:20), his exploits did not appear to bring about any lasting change for the people of Israel. The Philistines would be a problem for many years after Samson’s death. While the precise date for Samson is unknown, the overall timeframe of the judges is roughly 1250–1050 bc, leading up to the time of the narrative of Samuel the judge—depicted in 1 Samuel.
