"Unshakable: Building a Faith That Can't Be Moved"
Lesson Outline:
Introduction: Begin with a real-life example or story that involves faith - it could be a historical event, a Bible story, or a personal testimony.
Key Verse: Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Discussion:
Understanding Faith: Start with a discussion on what faith is. It's not just about belief in God, but also trust in His plans, His timing, and His goodness.
Faith in the Bible: Share stories from the Bible where faith played a central role. Examples include Abraham's faith in God's promise (Genesis 15:5-6), Daniel's faith in the lions' den (Daniel 6), and Peter walking on water (Matthew 14:22-33).
The Power of Faith: Discuss how faith can move mountains, using the metaphor Jesus gave in Matthew 17:20.
Activity: Divide the youth into groups and have them share about a time they had to exhibit faith in their lives.
Application:
Building Strong Faith: Discuss practical ways to build strong faith such as through prayer, reading and understanding the Word, participating in a faith community, and serving others.
Living by Faith: Encourage the youth to think of ways they can live out their faith in their everyday lives. How can they show faith at school, at home, with their friends?
Closing Prayer: Wrap up the session with a prayer for God to increase their faith and help them live it out daily.
Take Home Challenge: Encourage the youth to write down one area in their life where they need more faith and one action step they can take to demonstrate faith in that area. They should bring this back to discuss in the next session.
