Introduction

Signature

Signatures are important for determining the authenticity of documents. It is the seal that affirms that a certain individual is connected to a document, agreement, or even a piece of art.

Years from now when people are going through my notebooks from middle school, probably not, they will see the pages of signatures and be able to tell that A. they are mine and B. when I wrote in them.
When we consider the Bible we recognize that while chiefly it is God’s word and revelation. However, it is also a book of history. Indeed the much of the Old Testament, all the books from Joshua through Esther, are considered history books.
Historicity is the term that describes a document as historically accurate and reliable. We can trust the stories about the American Revolution because of documents like the declaration of independence prove their historicity.
Throughout the years as Archaeologist and Historians have dug around the sites of biblical events they have discovered artifacts with signatures that helps us to establish the history of the Bible.
