Intro: Chapters 1-3 tell us all that God has done for us
Spiritual Blessings
Our identity and our position is in Christ, which includes that we are children of God who have a promise of eternal life (Our hope).
Because of all God has done for you, live a life worthy of your calling
1:4 Chosen to be holy and without fault
1 Cor 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
(V1) Prisoner for serving God
A) Despite the consequences, Paul never wavered on serving God
1.1 Lead a life worthy of your calling
A) You’re not saved by good works, but because you’re saved you’re called to them
Eph 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
B) Christianity is more than a word, but it’s who you are, its the way you live, and the way you treat others
Humble, Gentle, Patient, Make allowances for each others faults
Because of your love
Paul is encouraging us to love other believers
As we begin a new year with new kids coming into our group. It’s important to remember to treat others as you would like to be treated.
