Morning Devotional:

Theme - Faithful men follow a Faith

Parting of the Red Sea

Faith is Believing that God will always do what God say he will do.
I want us to begin our day together remembering the Faith that the Children of Israel had as they had o completely depend on him though out their entire time from their exodus from Egypt to their 40:years in the wilderness and even as they entered the promised land .
Hebrews 11:1-211 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation.
Simply put Faith is Believing that God will always do what God say he will do.
Listen to what the author of Hebrews said about the children of Israel in this chapter on The Faith of our Forefathers.
Heb. 11:29. ”By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned."
Yesterday we learned about the Israelite Crossing of the Red Sea or the REeD Sea as Meno says,
As amazing as that event was we need to understand how and why it happened .
did you notice what this verse tells us about this story?
This verse says by faith the Israelites we’re enabled to pass through the Red Sea unharmed, while the Egyptians who lacked faith in God almighty were destroyed.
This was no little deal for this People. In their human minds they were doomed, there was no possible way of escape.
One of my favorite verses in all of scripture is Ephesians 3:19-20 which says now to him who is able to do exceeding abundantly more than we could ever ask to him be the glory int he church through Christ Jesus for ever and ever.
Exceedingly abundantly more than we could’ve ver ask or imagine.
Israel didn’t see any way for the.selfs to be rescues but abode did excitingly more than they could ever ask or imaging. Ali got to believe in all their prayers that went up not one of them was of please part this deep sea so we can walk on dry ground.
Godod wanted to free them in such a miraculous psych way that none else pseudo could ver claim the glory for what He did.
He did exceedingly unbundwnlty more than they could’ve ever ask he wanted to boo their socks off with how amazing he is
Why did god do this? So that he alone would be glorified
So what does his mean for us today.
We are the children of this same God , a god who does not change. And he wants to blow your socks off in a big way if not you will let him?
I want to encourage you today to pray n such a way looking for aged to do exceeding abundantly more than you could ever ask or imaging- so that you can give him the glory for his amazing or kim your life,
It was a time of great trial and testing for the people, who were caught between the Red Sea on one side and Pharaoh's army who wanted to kill them on the other.
They were afraid and uncertain of what was going to happen to them at that time, but despite their fear, they trusted in God's promise to deliver them and Something no-one could have expected happen.
God Parted the waters allowing them to cross on dry land.
This was an incredible display of God's power and faithfulness, but it also required a great deal of faith on the part of the Israelites to step out onto the dry ground and walk through the Columns of water on either side of them through the sea.
This event should serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of faith in our lives today. When we face difficult circumstances or seemingly insurmountable obstacles, it can be easy to lose faith and give up hope. But just as the Israelites trusted in God's promise to deliver them, we too must put our faith in Him and believe that He will see us through to the other side.
Going bAck to Hebrews listen to verse 6 -Hebrews 11:6 says, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
faith is essential to our relationship with God and He rewards those who seek Him with a sincere and genuine heart.
As we reflect on the story of the Red Sea crossing and the faith of the Israelites, let us be encouraged to trust in God's faithfulness and power to see us through the challenges of life.
I love the verse Hebrews 13:11 which Says Jesus Christ is the Same Yesterday today and Forever ever.
The God who promised to lead Israel is the Same God who is in Sovereign control over your life as well.
Toda I want to encourage yo to look at you own with journey with God, do yo fully trust in hi sovereignty over your salvation and your life? I encourage you that as we continue our journey today that you have a conversation with him about your with. Ask him to grow you faith so that like Israel you become more dependent on him than yourself.
Pray
Site Devotional: (St. Catherines Cathedral - The Burning Bush)
Theme - Faithful men follow a Faithful God Scripture- Exodus 3
So what does Moses and the Burning Bush mean for us today in 2023.
This story is one of the most iconic and significant events in the history of the Israelites. It is a story of God's power, presence, and provision, and it teaches us many valuable lessons about faith and obedience.
In Exodus 3, we read that Moses was tending his father-in-law's sheep in the wilderness when he saw a bush that was on fire but not consumed. As he approached the bush, God spoke to him and told him to remove his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. God then identified Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and revealed to Moses His plan to deliver the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
Moses was understandably hesitant to accept this task, feeling inadequate and unsure of himself. But God assured him that He would be with him and promised to give him the words to say. Moses ultimately accepted God's call and went to Pharaoh to demand that he release the Israelites from slavery.
The story of Moses and the Burning Bush teaches us many valuable lessons about our faith and obedience.
God can use anyone. Moses was an unlikely candidate to lead the Israelites out of slavery. He was a fugitive who had fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian, and he didn't feel qualified or capable of taking on such a monumental task. But God saw something in Moses that Moses didn't see in himself, and God used him in a powerful way. God is holy and deserves our respect and reverence. When Moses approached the Burning Bush, God told him to remove his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. This should remind us that we serve a holy God who deserves our respect and reverence. God is faithful to His promises. God had promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that He would make them into a great nation, and the time had come for Him to fulfill that promise. God is always faithful to His promises, and He will never let us down. God equips those He calls. When Moses expressed his doubts and fears to God, God promised to be with him and to give him the words to say. This is a reminder that when God calls us to do something, He will equip us with everything we need to accomplish His purposes. Obedience requires trust. Moses had to trust God and take a leap of faith in order to obey His call. Obedience often requires us to step out of our comfort zones and trust that God will guide us and provide for us.
As we reflect on the story of Moses and the Burning Bush, let us be inspired by Moses' faith and obedience, and let us be encouraged to trust in God's power and provision in our own lives. May we have the courage to step out in faith and obey God's call, knowing that He will be with us every step of the way.
