Morning Devotional:

Theme-         Let us Sing Songs of Praise Scripture-       Psalm 95:1-7
As we have been traveling through the Mountains and valleys these past coup[le of Days my mind likes to image the Psalmist as the sit and gaze out across this landscape and pen their words of Adoration to The Lord’. Listen to the Words
“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
ASK: How are you adoring God today from what You have saw Yesterday?
Lets pray

Site-  MT. NEBO (day 6) Theme- Sin Always has consequences but Jesus always offers Forgiveness, Scripture- Numbers    20:10-13. Deuteronomy 34

As we reflect on the significance of Mount Nebo I want us to consider its connection to the consequences of sin.
Mount Nebo serves as a sobering reminder for us today that God always punishes our sin., but this mountain also points us to the hope of redemption found in Christ. Let’s take a couple of minutes to look at how this mountain encourages us to confront our sin and to seek God's mercy and forgiveness.
Think about it
Adam committed 1 Sin and what was the result?
death came upon all men
when Moses disobeyed God and hit the rock what was his punishment? Death - he would die instead of entering the promised land
When the children of Israel didn’t trust in God after the spies came back from the promised land what was the result? Death every adult died in the wilderness before Josh and Caleb led the Israelites into the wilderness
Davids committed. A sin with Bathsheba ands what was the result? Death
the child conceived died and passed away
Mt Nebo is a precious and sobering reminder that gOd hates sin. And there is no sin that God will not punish.
And friends this truth has not changed for us. Our sin still carries with it a death penalty.
"For the wages of sin is death, ……but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23 (ESV)
Death means separation- When we die physically our Body is separated from our spirit. And when we die spiritually our soul is separated from God forever.
Everyone of us wants to go the “the promised land” when we die- we want to go live in the kingdom of God - But the Bible is so clear that because of our sin we are not qualified to live with God forever in his perfect kingdom.
And so the question I want to ask you is this
If you where to die today (to be eternally serrated from your body- why would GOd allow you into his perfect Kingdom where sin cannot exist?
I have spoken with many people in my life who are hoping that their good works far out way their sins. But I want you to look at the example sin scripture
Adams sinned once and was condemned. To die
The Bible says there is none more righteous that Moses and He was condemned to Die
God called David a man after his own heart and death came as a result of His sin.
Romans 3:23 says …..
And Romans 6:23 the penalty of sin is death- Even if you are as righties as Adam Moses and David your sin still Carrie’s with it an eternal death penalty.
But there is Hope..
"For the wages of sin is death, ……but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23 (ESV)
Ephesians 2:1–10 (ESV): And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Right in the middle of mankind Stpory God steps in. BUT GOD the two most precious words in all of Scripture
God did not leave us in our helpless sinful condemned state He stepped in and offers us Grace
GRace is God giving us wha we don’t deserve.
God in Grace gives us the ability to have the same faith that redeemed
AdamMoses and David from an eternity apart from God.
Faith is believing that GOd will do what God says Good will do and God promises tha if we accept His Son Jesus into our lives as our substitute for our sin that JEsus will take our entire debt of sin upon his own shoulders and in its place he will give us His perfect righteousness, we call this Propitiation.
So ho does this transformation happen?
Romans 10:9-10 BEleive in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is lord you will be saved…..
Friends IS your sin still separating you from an eternity inHEaven I encourage you to cry out to Gd in desperation and accept his free gift of Salvation i to your life today.
Romans 8:1–2 (ESV): There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death
…..
The Consequence of Sin:
Numbers 20:10-13 tells us the story of the children of Israel in the wilderness and they were in great need of Water- and So God told Moses to speak to the rock before them and it would open up a spring of water tBut Moses out of anger towards the bickering of the Israelites went top to the Rock and smacked it with his staff instead of speaking to it like God had commanded Him to Do. Moses Disobeyed God- And there were consequences for His disobedience.
Listen to what God told Moses after He struck the Rock
Numbers 20:10-1210 Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?” 11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, and water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock. 12 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.” Because Moses disobeyed He was not allowed to Go into the Promise Land with the Children of Israel.
And this brings us to Mt Neo in our story.
Listen to the Words of Deuteronomy 34:1-5 ”Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western sea, the Negeb, and the Plain, that is, the Valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. And the Lord said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.” So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord,
Mount Nebo holds a significant place in the story of Moses, Because it was the place where he beheld the Promised Land before his death.
Despite Moses' inability to enter the Promised Land, God allowed him to see it from a distance. This act of grace and mercy reveals to us God's willingness to extend forgiveness when we turn to Him in genuine repentance. He offers us a way of Redemption from our sin through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Finding Redemption in Christ:
Mount Nebo ultimately points us to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the price for our sins and offers us the free gift of eternal life. When we repent of our sins and put our faith in Jesus Alone, we are forgiven and reconciled back to God. The consequences of sin are overcome by the immeasurable grace and love of our Savior.
Mount Nebo serves as a solemn reminder of the consequences of sin, this should cause us to reflect on our own lives and acknowledge our need for repentance. It shows us that even the most Spiritual people still have a sin nature and are still in need of a Perfect Savior. The story of Mt Nebo invites us to turn to God in humility, seeking His forgiveness and mercy. Take a moment to pray and confess any known sins to God, asking for His forgiveness and grace. Thank Him for the gift of redemption through Jesus Christ, and seek His help in living a life that honors Him and avoids the consequences of sin.
