Celebrating Relationships: Acts 2:36-47

Important background: Acts 1-2- Jesus' promise; His followers' Prayer & Obedience: Amazing message and response. Acts 4ff- Phenomenal growth & fierce opposition.

I. Relationship with God.

• A. God's eternal desire. (Gen. 2; 3:8 Old Testament worship).
• B. God's misunderstood plan: They digressed into mere religion. (Isa. 28:13).
• C. God's invitation: To know and follow the Lord Jesus.(Acts 2:36-41).
• D. God's ordained practices for His people. (Acts 2:42).

II. Relationship with God's people.

• A. They shared a reverence for God. (43; Phil. 4:13;Eph. 3:20).
• B. They shared what they had. (44-45; Rom. 12:4-5).
• C. They shared life. (46:1; I Thess. 2:8; "one another" commands).
• D. They shared life change. (47; John 13; 34-35).

Today I Commit myself to developing the relationships that matter the most.
