Where did they go

Galatians 1:6–10 (KJV)

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

1.   Paul was talking to the Galatians who were removing themselves from the grace that Paul had preached to them to something else.

a.       The Galatians were being fooled into leaving by teachers that followed behind Paul perverting the gospel making it to sound as though you must also live by the Law of Moses

b.      Today people are fooled into leaving their church for some other cause or reason how?

Ephesians 4:14 (KJV)

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

c.       Why have so many walked out after being here?

Matthew 13:3–9 (KJV)

3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

2.   Was God telling them to leave?

a.       Many people have said “God told me to come here” where are they? If God sowed them into this church why would he pull the seed out of the ground so quickly and move it?

b.      Good people have been fooled into going somewhere else by people who just want to steal them away!

2 Corinthians 11:13–15 (KJV)

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

c.       If I or anyone else preaches anything else even if they are an angel from heaven other than the gospel you have received they are accursed!

3.    We must hold fast onto what God has given us!

 2 Timothy 4:3–4 (KJV)

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

a.       Beware of false teachers (many of them will come to you looking like friends)

b.      Beware of false ideas (even the ones that look better)

c.       Hold faithful to what God has given you!
